Blacktail Lodge is nestled within minutes of Deadwood
in the midst of a historic canyon with scenic views of
the Black Hills. The Ranch is open exclusively to eight
guests to guarantee individualized attention.
Each day a western history tour on horseback is
offered. This narrated, interpretive ride takes you to
historical mining sites, teaches local history and
shows you the nature and wildlife of the area.
Your instructor, Barbara Jean, has her Riding
Instructor Certificate from the University of
Wisconsin River Falls and has trained and shown in
western riding, gaming, dressage, and english
equitation.

opportunities. Tour the area including Mount
Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State
Park, Needles Highway, and the shops of Hill City. The
historic town of Deadwood is just around the corner
and you ave the chance to spend an evening enjoying
